CA Testifies in Washington, DC, on US Immigration Policy;Â Advocates for International Agricultural Exchange Programs
Communicating for America remains committed to finding reasonable solutions to the problems facing our nation’s broken immigration system that work for American agriculture and encourages the sharing of culture and ideas through international exchange programs. For more than 25 years through the CA Foundation, CA has had the authority from the U.S. State Department to administer a J-1 Visa Exchange Visitor Program that sponsors a cultural training and intern exchange program in a variety of agricultural fields.
During the ongoing immigration debate, CA has been very active in Washington, DC, as well as at the state level, holding meetings with key US House and Senate immigration leaders as well as House and Senate Judiciary members. In the past few months CA has met with the offices of Representatives John Carter (TX-31), Zoe Lofgren (CA-19) and Trey Gowdy (SC-4), along with Senators Flake (AZ), Menendez (NJ), Durbin (IL), and Feinstein (CA). In June, CA implemented a grassroots advocacy effort through its membership to reach out to US Senator Ron (WI) Johnson at a series of meetings in Wisconsin. CA will continue to advocate for the importance of agricultural exchange programs that benefit rural communities, local colleges, families, and young citizens.
