Repealing ObamaCare was the top response from members when asked what they thought is the most important issue that the 114th Congress needs to address. Like most of the American public, they were also pessimistic about gridlock changing in Washington, D.C.
Most CA members have a qualified health plan, as opposed to having no insurance or having assistance through some kind of state or federal program. In addition, CA members have found it more difficult to purchase health insurance since the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
The CA survey showed members overwhelmingly support the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, despite voicing their concerns about the environment.
When asked to rank the most important issues facing the new 114th Congress, CA members ranked the following issues from most important to least important:
1. Affordable health insurance
2. Individual tax reform
3. Immigration reform
4. Education reform/lowering student loan costs
5. Global climate change/environmental issues
